NESmaker For Education
NESmaker is currently part of the curriculum of several educational institutions around the world, and is being used in environments ranging from elementary classrooms through college courses. We would love to see this passion shared with the next generation of game developers. If you are an educator interested in bringing NESmaker to your classroom, please contact us through the form on our contact page and let us know a bit more about your program!
NESmaker Training
MOBILE USERS, PLEASE USE DIRECT LINKS BELOW TO ACCESS TUTORIALS.
From those taking their very first steps into developing for the NES to those with long history programming 6502 ASM, we hope that NESmaker can be a great tool to help keep this system alive. Beginners can follow beginners tutorials without knowing a single line of code while advanced users can create entire engines from scratch, using NESmaker as a way to help better organize their projects.
To use the tutorials, first click on the DOWNLOAD ASSETS. The zip file will contain resources that will be used throughout that particular tutorial. If you want to jump in and get creating very quickly, choose the BEGINNER tutorial. If you want to get a better grasp on how the tool works and how the project is set up, choose the INTERMEDIATE tutorial. The Beginner and Intermediate tutorials more or less create the same small project. After completing either, if you would like to begin exploring the 6502 ASM code to start learning how to make custom modifications to the mechanics, check out the ADVANCED tutorial.
**TUTORIAL DISCLAIMER: The following tutorials are for the modules that come with NESmaker v4.5.6. This does not represent all that NESmaker is capable of creating. Modules are simply bare bones starting points to help users get up and running quickly. As such, they are likely to have quirks and bugs and things that don't quite work as expected. We strongly recommend that you use them as a learning tool to create some simple projects before beginning to create your opus.
